Michael Puleo, Ph.D.

Michael Puleo is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business. He earned a Ph.D. in Finance from Temple University and Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance from the University of Florida. Dr. Puleo teaches Financial Management, Case Studies in Finance, and Corporate Finance at the Dolan School of Business. He continually strives to improve the learning process with new technologies and pedagogical methods, receiving the Dolan School of Business Teaching Innovation Award for the 2020-21 academic year.

Professor Puleo's research focuses on empirical corporate finance with an emphasis on corporate governance, agency conflicts, managerial ownership and insider share-pledging. His work has been published in prominent academic journals including the Journal of Financial Services Research, the Financial Review, Accounting & Finance, and Managerial Finance. As a leading researcher in insider share-pledging, he has also been quoted in several Bloomberg News articles on the topic.
